GIS DEVELOPER, Georgia - Four-year degree in Geography,
engineering, Information Technology, or related field. Experience and/or formal education in Geographic
Information Systems, database administration, and programming required. Applicants with other four-year
degrees with appropriate related experience will also be considered. Responsible for enhancing and
assisting in the management of the Geographic Information System (GIS) and related applications. Duties will
include application and web development, back-up and recovery, ensuring data integrity and accuracy,
user support, constructing and maintaining the various interfaces between the GIS system and other systems
within the company, configuring and maintaining a Windows server client environment and related hardware.
ArcFm is the system. Data modeling experience is a plus. Knowledge of the capabilities, uses, and
direction on GIS system in an electric utility environments preferred. Experience with ESRI system
administration and development is desirable. A working knowledge of relational database concepts and
data filing structures in Oracle. Knowledge of Visual Basic, NET, C++ and Web development programming
languages preferred. Knowledge of Windows Operating System. Excellent logical thinking, problem solving,
and diagnostic skills with an emphasis on attention to detail. Some travel required.
